• Discrete Packet Format (DPF): Discrete Packet Format is the foundation of VXA technology. Data is read and written in small packets, which include user data, error correction code, cyclical redundancy check code, and address information. Because the packets are uniquely addressed, they can be read in any order, and are reassembled in the buffer before being sent back to the host.
• Variable Speed Operation (VSO): In effect, this eliminates the need for backhitching. No backhitching means higher effective throughput and less wear and tear on drives and media.
• Overscan Operation (OSO): The heads can read data from any physical location on the tape, without having to follow tracks from beginning to end. This adds to reliability, data retrieval, and interchange.

Can you ship on my freight account?
Yes. Please contact a RICOM representative for details.  UPS, FedEx, and TNT are preferred for parcel shipments.  LTL shipments can be setup with a variety of other carriers.

What type of warranty do you offer?
Our warranties range from 30 days to one year depending on the manufacturer.  We offer certified extended warranty programs on most equipment through the manufacturer.
