As next generation enterprise networks are attempting to alleviate performance bottlenecks across their infrastructure, Gigabit Ethernet over Copper is becoming the most cost effective technology for connectivity at the server farm and for aggregating 10/100 switches at the wiring closet. The SuperStack 3 Switch 4924 is ideally suited in these configurations by offering 24 fixed 10/100/1000 ports, in a high performance, compact and affordable form factor. The Switch 4924 can also support an optional Switch 4900 expansion module, allowing customers to deploy additional Gigabit media such as 1000BASE-SX, 1000BASE-LX and long haul Gigabit Ethernet (1000BASE-LH70) in the same integrated platform. The Switch 4924 supports advanced Layer 2 switching features such as CoS/QoS, VLANs, multicast filtering and RMON as well as Layer 3 switching through support for IP unicast routing and hardware based Access Lists.
