The HP 449316-B21 ProLiant BL680c delivers a feature set similar to that of the DL580 in a blade form factor. In fact, all the new c-Class product names are similar to their DL equivalent. There are some differences between the DL580 and the BL680c -- for instance the DL580 has more DIMM slots, local drives and expansion slots compared to the BL680c, but the BL680c has more embedded Gigabit Ethernet adapters and a much denser form factor. The BL680c delivers a robust feature set in a 4P blade and is a viable platform for any customer looking for traditional 4P features and performance in a blade. 4P server blade form factor, including 4-core and 6-core processors, extensive memory capacity and best-in-class networking.

The HP 449316-B21 supports two or four Intel® Xeon® 7200, 7300, or 7400 Series processors deliver industry leading multi-processor (MP) performance. The memory supports 128GB fully buffered DDR2 memory via 16 PC2-5300 DIMM slots provide a large footprint for memory-intensive applications. High performance integrated HP Smart Array P400i Controller with 256MB cache and RAID 0/1/0+1/5. Optional 512MB battery-backed write cache upgrade with RAID 6. Four integrated adapters - two are general Gigabit Ethernet and two are multifunction Gigabit Ethernet with TCP/IP offload engine (TOE), iSCSI boot, and optional accelerated iSCSI. Three mezzanine expansion slots support multifunction 10 Gigabit Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet, standard Gigabit Ethernet, 4Gb Fibre Channel, and 4x DDR (20Gb) InfiniBand.
