The EXTREME 50015 Management Switch Fabric Module 64i (MSM64i) is responsible for upper-layer protocol processing and switch management functions in the BlackDiamond chassis. The MSM64i can store two ExtremeWare software images (version 6.0 or later) and two switch configurations.
Installation of multiple EXTREME 50015 MSM64is in a BlackDiamond system provides control and switch fabric redundancy for the BlackDiamond switch. The BlackDiamond 6804 and 6808 can support up to 2 MSM64i modules, while a BlackDiamond 6816 supports up to 4 MSM64i modules.
The MSM64i is hot-swappable and interchangeable between all BlackDiamond series switches.
