Overview
The A6847A 1000BaseSX (Fibre) PCI LAN Adapter provides high-performance Gigabit Ethernet networking solution for HP workstations. The LAN adapters are data link adapters that support the IEEE 802.3z standard for 1000Base-SX operation over multimode fiber. The Gigabit Ethernet intelligent adapters are designed to maximize host CPU efficiency by performing functions such as TCP/IP checksum, interrupt coalescing, and byte swapping.

Supports full-duplex point-to-point or back-to-back (via switch to adapter or adapter to adapter) operations only. The adapters do not support half-duplex and do not speed negotiate (1000 Mbps operation only), but do perform auto-negotiation for other link parameters.

The A6847A 1000Base-SX Adapter supports only full duplex point-to-point or back-to-back operations (switch to adapter or adapter to adapter connections). The adapters do not support half-duplex (CSMA/CD) and do not speed negotiate (operation is at 1000 Mbps only), but do perform auto-negotiation for other link parameters (refer to the IEEE 802.3z Standards, Clause 37, for specifications on flow control and auto-negotiation).
The 1000Base-SX adapters use short wavelength laser (SWL, 770-860 nm, nominally 850 nm) over 62.5 or 50 micron diameter multimode fiber (MMF) cable. The distance to peer is up to 550 meters with 50 micron diameter MMF, and 200 meters with 62.5 micron diameter MMF cable. The A6847A 1000Base-SX adapter interface is provided through a duplex SC fiber connector. Refer to the 1000Base-SX cabling types.

Can you ship on my freight account?
Yes. Please contact a RICOM representative for details.  UPS, FedEx, and TNT are preferred for parcel shipments.  LTL shipments can be setup with a variety of other carriers.

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, RICOM ships worldwide. We have customers in over 50 countries and have extensive experience in international shipping methods as well as working with customs regulations.

What type of warranty do you offer?
Our warranties range from 30 days to one year depending on the manufacturer.  We offer certified extended warranty programs on most equipment through the manufacturer.
