The Avaya G450 syncs telephone and data networking by providing PSTN toll bypass and routing data and VoIP traffic over the WAN. The Avaya G450 gateway features a VoIP engine, WAN router, and Ethernet LAN connectivity. The Avaya G450 supports IP and digital telephones as well as analog devices such as modems, fax machines, and telephones.  The Avaya G450 can support up to 450 users when deployed as a branch gateway in a mid to large branch office of a large enterprise or a call center, and can serve up to 2400 users when deployed  as a campus gateway. Both configurations require Avaya Communication Manager IP telephony software running on one or more Avaya S8XXX Servers. The avaya g450 user capacity is reached when the Avaya S8300 server is used and the 2400 user capacity is reached when the Avaya S8500 Server is used.  Telephone services on a G450 are controlled by an Avaya S8XXX Server operating either as an External Call Controller (ECC) or as an Internal Call Controller (ICC). The Avaya G450 supports the Avaya S8300 Server as an ICC, or as an ECC when the S8300 is installed in another media gateway. The avaya G450 gateway supports the Avaya S8710, S8720, S8730, S8500, and S8400 Servers as ECCs.  RICOM sells refurbished used Avaya G450 servers.  The G450 main board has four slots for VoIP engines. Each slot can accommodate either an MP20 (Media Processor 20) module or an MP80 (Media Processor 80) module. An MP20
provides 25 channels for G.711 and G.726 and 20 channels for G.729, and an MP80 provides 80 channels.

Avaya G450 features:

• Field-replaceable Main Board Module supports optional DSP and Memory add-ons.  Built-in interfaces include two 10/100/1000 Base-T LAN ports, two 10/100 Base-T WAN ports, two USB ports, console and services ports, Contact closure adjunct port, and an ETR port (for emergency calls during power failures)
• Modular DSP Resources are available as daughterboards for Main Board Module. These daughterboards can be implemented in 20 or 80 channel increments.  The maximum capacity is 240 channels. Codecs supported include G.711, G.729, and G.726. 
• Robust TDM Capabilities for scalability and deployment flexibility including 240 voice channel capacity, 192 analog or digital (DCP) ports, up to 8 T1/E1s* up to 10,000 Busy Hour Call Completions
• High-resiliency features such as dual, redundant, load-sharing power supplies; modular fan tray, standard Local Survivability and Enhanced Local Survivability (with S8300 Server)
• Basic routing capabilities including OSPF, RIP, PPP, Frame Relay and VRRP support. Available IP WAN routing media modules add support for PPP/Frame Relay connectivity over E1/T1 or Universal Serial Port (USP) interfaces. The G450 can also connect to an external WAN device via fixed 10/100 Ethernet WAN router ports, which support traffic shaping to match data transfer rates with available WAN bandwidth.
