The D2D4009fc D2D Backup Systems are virtual tape libraries (VTL), which are part of the HP virtual tape library system (VLS) family. The D2D solutoin also provide customers with the option to use a NAS target for backup applications. Each system is capable of supporting both VTL and NAS targets for backup applications on a single platform.

A virtual tape library is a disk-based solution which sits between your server and your physical tape drive/library to provide rapid restores, faster data backup and greater data availability. D2D Backup Systems emulate LTO tape autoloaders and libraries, and are recognized by the backup application as a physical tape device. As compared to other disk-based data protection solutions, the advantages of using a virtual tape library are its ability to leverage and integrate into current backup environments, its ease of setup and management, and its minimal maintenance requirements.

The HP D2D4009fc D2D Backup System with NAS targets for backup applications provides customers with an easy to use interface for simpler backup. The product has been designed and optimized for backup applications and hence includes data deduplication and supports low-bandwidth replication; it is not intended as a generic file-share device or for primary storage.

Yes. Please contact a RICOM representative for details.  UPS, FedEx, and TNT are preferred for parcel shipments.  LTL shipments can be setup with a variety of other carriers.
