ProCurve Switch 5308xl-48G and 5304xl-32G Discontinuance

The ProCurve Switch 5308xl-48G & 5304xl-32G products have provided customers with scalable Layer 2, 3 and 4 switching in compact 4- and 8-slot modular form factors with affordable 1G connectivity since 2004. Due to the availability of expanded software features and enhanced switching capabilities in our current ProCurve Switch 5400zl Series products, ProCurve Networking by HP is announcing the discontinuance of the ProCurve Switch 5308xl-48G & 5304xl-32G products.

There are currently no planned discontinuance dates for the ProCurve Networking by HP Switches 5308xl, 5304xl, 5372xl and 5348xl (product numbers J4819A, J4850A, J4848B and J4849B respectively), or any of the modules that support the ProCurve Switch 5300xl series .

Recommended Replacement Products

The recommended replacement products for the ProCurve Switch 5308xl-48G & 5304xl-32G are the ProCurve Switches 5412zl-96G and 5406zl-48G (product numbers J8700A and J8699A, respectively). These intelligent edge switches with ProVision ASICs have the superset of features of the ProCurve Switch 5304xl-48G and 5308xl-32G including:
