NPE-150 and NPE-200 use DRAM for storing routing tables, network accounting applications, packets of information in preparation for process switching, and packet buffering for SRAM overflow. The standard configuration is 32 MB, with up to 128 MB available through single in-line memory module (SIMM) upgrades.

NPE-225 uses SDRAM for providing code, data, and packet storage.

NPE-300 and NPE-400 use SDRAM for storing all packets received or sent from network interfaces. The SDRAM also stores routing tables and network accounting applications. Two independent SDRAM memory arrays in the system allow concurrent access by port adapters and the processor.

Cisco uBR7200-NPE-G1 SDRAM: 256 MB (default), 512 MB, and 1 GB. There are two DRAM memory slots, so 256-MB of memory consists of two 128 MB memory SODIMMs, 512 MB consists of two 256-MB memory SODIMMs, and 1 GB consists of two 512 MB memory SODIMMs. It is necessary to have the same size SODIMM in each memory bank on an NPE-G1. The type of DRAM memory being used on the NPE-G1 is double data-rate (DDR) memory. DDR memory provides high-performance memory access rates.

Packet SRAM for storing packets of information in preparation for fast switching:

NPE-150 has 1 MB of SRAM.
NPE-200 has 4 MB of SRAM.
NPE-225, NPE-300, and NPE-400 do not have packet SRAM.

Cache memory:

NPE-150 and NPE-200 have unified cache SRAM that functions as the secondary cache for the microprocessor. (The primary cache is within the microprocessor.)

NPE-225, NPE-300, and NPE-400 have three levels of cache: a primary and a secondary cache that are internal to the microprocessor, and a tertiary, 2-MB external cache that provides additional high-speed storage for data and instructions.

Cisco uBR7200-NPE-G1 16-MB packet memory on 256-MB SDRAM and 32-MB packet memory on 512-MB and 1-GB SDRAM.

Our corporate headquarters is located in Irvine California where shipments and logistics are managed.  RICOM utilizes over 700 warehouses and fulfillment centers worldwide to improve availability, and ease delivery.  Obtain a freight estimate online or by contacting a RICOM representative.

Can you ship on my freight account?
Yes. Please contact a RICOM representative for details.  UPS, FedEx, and TNT are preferred for parcel shipments.  LTL shipments can be setup with a variety of other carriers.

What type of warranty do you offer?
