Cisco NME-X-23ES-1G 23 10/100 Ethernet ports, 1 10/100/1000 Ethernet port, no StackWise connector ports, extended single-wide, no PoE support. The Etherswitch module is compatible with Cisco 2851 routers, and Cisco 3800 routers.
The Cisco Cisco NME-X-23ES-1G EtherSwitch service modules provides both Cisco pre-standard and IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) support when inserted in Cisco 2800 Series or 3800 Series Integrated Services Routers (requires an upgrade to an AC-IP power supply). 802.3af is the IEEE standard for delivering power to Ethernet ports. The Cisco NME-X-23ES-1G EtherSwitch service modules offer many benefits in regards to PoE support (Table 3) and can be used to power devices such as access points, IP phones, and other powered devices.
The Cisco NME-X-23ES-1G-P provides power to IEEE 802.3af-compliant and noncompliant Power over Ethernet (PoE) devices. PoE devices are Cisco IP phones, Cisco access points, and some Cisco switches.
Cisco NME-X-23ES-1G-P Speed features
The operating speed of the switch port. You can choose Auto (autonegotiation) if the connected device can negotiate the link speed with the switch port.
The default settings are:
- Auto for the external 10/100-Mbps Fast Ethernet ports
- Auto for the external Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 (10/100/1000-Mbps) ports
- 1000 Mbps for the SFP module ports
Cisco NME-X-23ES-1G-P Duplex features
- The duplex mode of the switch port. Choose from one of the following:
- Auto (autonegotiation) if the connected device can negotiate with the switch
- Full (full duplex) if both devices can send data at the same time
- Half (half duplex) if one or both devices cannot send data at the same time
- The default settings are:
- Auto for the external 10/100-Mbps Fast Ethernet ports
- Auto for the external Gigabit Ethernet RJ-45 (10/100/1000-Mbps) ports
- Full for the 1000-Mbps ports (SFP)
