Additionally, with the Catalyst WS-C3550-24PWR-SMI, up to 15.4W/port of inline power on every 10/100 port ensures maximum device support for IP telephony and wireless LAN deployments.

Maximum power availability for a converged voice and data network is attainable when the CatalystWS-C3550-24PWR-SMI switch is combined with the Cisco Redundant Power System 675 (RPS 675) for seamless protection against internal power supply failures and an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system to safeguard against power outages.

The Catalyst WS-C3550-24PWR-SMI is installed with either the Standard Multilayer Software Image (SMI) or the Enhanced Multilayer Software Image (EMI). The SMI feature set includes advanced QoS, rate-limiting, access control lists (ACLs), and basic static and RIP routing functionality. The EMI provides a richer set of enterprise-class services including advanced hardware-based IP unicast and multicast routing and the Web Cache Communication Protocol (WCCP). Switches installed with SMI have the flexibility to upgrade to EMI with the Enhanced Multilayer Software Image upgrade kit (CD-3550-EMI=).

Available for the Catalyst 3550 Series, the Cisco Network Assistant is a free centralized management application that simplifies the administration task of Cisco switches, routers, and wireless access point. Cisco Network Assistant offers user-friendly GUI interface to easily configure, troubleshoot, and enable and monitor the network.
