The HP StorageWorks 4/8 Base SAN Switch offers 4 Gb connectivity for entry-level storage area networks (SAN), and the ability to grow to a core-to-edge infrastructure. The simplicity and ease-of-use advantages of this switch help increase administrator productivity and lower the cost of management. The switch delivers eight (upgradeable to16) high performance Auto Sensing 1, 2, and 4Gb/s Fiber Channel ports. An optional 4-port activation license increases the number of active ports to 12 or 16 ports. The 4/8 Base switch provides single-switch connectivity for a new, simple SAN installation and connects to storage and servers only. The switch offers 8 active Fiber Channel ports (optional license to activate 16 universal ports). Zero eport.
