The WS-G5483 GBIC uses Category 5, Category 5e, or Category 6 UTP/FTP cable to provide 1000BASE-T full-duplex connectivity between the Gigabit Ethernet module or supervisor engine and the network up to a distance of 328 feet (100 meters).
